another week flies by

well, madeleine is one week older and seems to change by leaps and bounds each day.

madeleine loves her play mat/jungle gym (whatever you call it) and has started reaching out and grabbing toys on it. she'll lay there for quite a while and just wiggle around, content as can be.

audrey and joseph were kind enough to loan us their johnny jump-up (actually, i think it's technically a baby bouncer) while their kids are too big for it. i'm not quite sure madeleine is ready for it yet. i put her in it once and she just kind of sat there wide-eyed and wondering, and then i put her in it again a little later and within one minute she was arching her back and screaming, which set her off balance and only compounded the problem. maybe we'll wait until she's a little older for that one.

she loves her pink blanket. she's just hit the phase where she licks anything that gets close to her mouth and she loves to hold this blanket next to her face and get as much of it in her mouth as she can.

my mom was out of town this last week, so audrey was gracious enough to brave watching madeleine with her boys. i say brave enough because our house is not kid proof yet and it's a little hard to keep those boys contained for long periods of time. here is matthew, enjoying some tummy time with madeleine.

at the beginning of the week, the weather was quite nice and madeleine and i ventured out for a couple walks again. unfortunately, utah did its typical weather pattern and decided to get one last snowfall in (let's hope it's the last) before spring. hopefully it will be warm again and we can resume the walks.
