soccer

this weekend we were in boise for mother's day and i forgot to get out the camera except when we were at my nephew's soccer game. we had a great weekend though, filled with skirt making (by my mother-in-law, for me), yard work, eating, and my favorite (yes, even more than the eating) - time spent just sitting around and talking to family. the girls were troopers in the car and throughout the trip, although it did take us seven hours each way, instead of our usual five to five and a half.

watching carsten play soccer reminded me of those many years of watching ray and beth play soccer on the weekends. we would head down to sixty acres and watch them chase after the ball for hours. over the years, it got progressively better and looked less like chasing the ball and more like actual stratagem. we watched carsten play soccer a couple years ago and he has obviously improved in the last two years, although there is still plenty chasing the ball.
