my mom was in hawaii last week, so my mother-in-law volunteered to come down a week early for the baby blessing to help out with madeleine while my mom was gone. randy was especially grateful for the help and enjoyed a little extra time to study and practice during the day. it was so fun to have jeanie stay with us and get to know madeleine better. she was the easiest guest to have and not only took care of madeleine during the day, but also cooked for us at night. i couldn't ask for a sweeter mother-in-law.
in true grandmother fashion, the toys came pouring out when jeanie opened her suitcase. these are just a few of them. madeleine loved the brightly colored toys and had a blast playing with them all week.
i came home to find this ingenious engineering on jeanie's part. i could not figure out how to rig this mobile so that we could use it (our walls are not conducive to hanging things), but with a spatula and a drawer, jeanie had it working in no time.
madeleine LOVED those fish. she would sit under them, happy as a clam, and would even start giggling while she looked at them. it was really fun to see her get excited about all of these new pieces of stimuli.

another jeanie feat of engineering.
enjoying some tummy time.
madeleine became even more interactive this week. it is so fun to play with her and have her smile and giggle at you. she is especially cute with randy and eats up all of his silly antics.
kyle and kimberlee came down with their kids this weekend for the blessing, too. it was so fun to see madeleine with her cousins.
grandpa bob also joined us for the blessing this weekend and madeleine had a great time getting to know him too.
