madeleine: where's daddy's birthday?
me: daddy's birthday was yesterday.
madeleine: is it in his stomach?
i thought, "yikes, she's got a lot to learn about birthdays." after further investigation, i figured out that she was talking about his birthday cake. i still think she has a lot to learn about birthdays.
