and it's not even easter eve yet

my latest project was easter baskets for the girls. i just finished them today and i am really happy with how they turned out. just don't look too close (one of these days i'll finish a project and say, "look really close. look at the details.") it's really not that bad, but i am still clearly learning. and sewing a straight edge to a circle is a difficult task. but all in all, very happy with them.

i found the baskets here and followed the tutorial that she linked to, although i tweaked the dimensions a little bit.

madeleine loves hers and has been carrying it around today. diane is not as enamored. perhaps she is opposed to the secular observance of easter. or maybe she has no control of her limbs to carry it with.

They are so cute! I think you figured out a great size. I'm sure Diane will carry her's everywhere next year!!

Seeing as Diane is 2 months old, and a child, I go with the limb lack of strength over not approving of candy to celebrate any holiday - sacred or secular.
