february in pictures

oh man, am i really this far behind on the blog, again? here we go with some catch up, starting with february:

these two love to snuggle up in the morning. i love it.

diane also likes to hide under her blanket from the camera.

we made valentines out of wax paper and crayon shavings for madeleine's class and to take around to our neighbors. the kids love them (although there's not a lot they can do to help, since they can't shave the crayons and i won't let them near an iron yet. but they're relatively easy to make and people are easily impressed with them. plus, they're pretty to hang up in the windows.

we got a little snow this february. i love looking out the window at our house after it snows (or really, anytime). as my mom said, it looks a little like a postcard.

jonathan fell asleep on the floor at stake conference. we all know the feeling.

these are from madeleine's class party. my parents were in town, so my mom got to come, too, and we got to help with games and crafts. madeleine thought it was the best thing ever.

she brought home all of her loot and shared it with her siblings, kind sister that she is.

i call this his TI-phone. get it?

my parents came to visit in february over valentine's day weekend. there is a vocal group that they love that was giving a concert up here and it seemed like the perfect excuse for a visit. we ate up every minute with them.

before the king's singers concert, we went to palisades for dinner. it has a beautiful view and delicious food.

that's the seattle skyline in the background.

as we were taking these pictures, the power went out. they blew a transformer and the power was out for the night. thankfully, we had just finished up our main courses and they gave us a free meal because the power went out, so it worked in our favor. thankfully, we had had an early reservation. i felt terrible for the restaurant because it was valentine's day weekend and they had to close down for the night. it made for a fun experience for us, though.

the king's singers concert was downtown in town hall, which is a venue i had never been to and really enjoyed. the music that they sang was beautiful and perfect for my tastes. we had a great time together.

here's jonathan helping me put away some groceries. he is my little shadow and loves to "help" whenever i will let him.

diane continues to fall asleep in the strangest positions.

on the way home from the library:

i always love the afternoon after we go to the library because the kids are peacefully absorbed in their new books and the house doesn't get as messy.

snuggling with daddy:

wresting with daddy:

we went out to dinner as a family at pizza bank:

getting out at st. edward's park:

this was on madeleine's 100th day of school.
