yes, i'm still here, although you wouldn't know it by my recent blog activity. i think i've decided to move to the once a month big post format, and then i can do individual events if they're more noteworthy (such as madeleine starting school next week (!)). but that means that i have two months to catch up. so here's july.
my sister, beth, and her family came to town at the beginning of july and we had a grand old time with them. we went to the zoo, the park, played in our backyard, BBQed for the fourth of july and went and watched fireworks together.
this was our fireworks set-up (same as last year). we opened up the back of our van and watched the kenmore fireworks over lake washington. it's a great show. randy stayed home with jonathan, who was asleep, and we should have left diane home with him as well. she did not like the loud noises. she climbed under her quilt and plugged her ears the whole time. poor thing.
this was a photo shoot that the girls set up for me and then made me take a bunch of pictures. i have three pretty cute kids.
goofy girl.
we did lots of playing in the backyard.
diane does not like to nap in her bed. i usually find her in funny positions in her room, the hall, or even on the stairs.
this boy loves the garbage truck and goes running when he hears it. we live in a cul-de-sac that they like to turn around in, so he gets to see them a few times a week.
we drove over a screw and got a flat tire, so we went to a local shop to get it fixed. they had some nice "lobby" furniture. hey, they were cheap and fast.
we went to the zoo with the sines.
ate lots of these.
madeleine did a little yardwork. yes, that's right, we had leaves to rake in july. need to be better about fall/spring yard clean-up.
beautiful hydrangeas from my yard.
we went bowling with the sines. it was past everyone's bedtime and a little adventurous, but still fun.
madeleine asked me to take a picture and struck this pose for me.
august will be coming shortly.
