easter fun

the beauty of being low-key about holidays is that your children get excited at the smallest efforts. every year, madeleine begs to dye easter eggs, so i invest in the $1 paas egg dying kit and we throw a dozen eggs into the dye. the girls love it.

diane was even reasonably decent toward the camera. no scowls and only a couple funny faces.

this year i even went crazy and threw stickers on a couple of them and rubber bands around one. i don't have any "after" pictures of that one, but it was pretty fun, especially for the amount of effort i clearly put into it - straightening each rubber-band so the lines would be crisp and even. like i said, low expectations.

randy's mom sent us some plastic easter eggs and on sunday afternoon after church, madeleine handed me her easter basket full of those eggs and told me to go hide them in the backyard so that she and diane could do an easter egg hunt. between jeanie and madeleine, i had all of the work done for me. randy and i scattered the eggs around the yard and the girls loved it.

since sunday afternoon, madeleine and diane have played "easter egg hunt" over and over in the backyard. it's the gift that keeps on giving.
