the great outdoors, at last!
with the occasional exception, the weather has been much nicer around here and we have been enjoying some time outside.
diane's blessing
after diane's blessing, i forced family pictures on everyone. they were good sports and audrey was kind enough to take them for us.
the pecks
the pecks with chuck and ruth anne
the swenson pecks
the linford pecks
my parents with our girls
plus randy and me
proud parents and diane
with randy's grandmother, beverly peck
we tried to get a few pictures of just diane wearing the blessing dress, but she wasn't thrilled about the process:
especially after i took away her binkie.
once i got her changed out of the dress, she was much happier:
hitting the slopes
on saturday, randy's brother, our niece, and randy's aunt all went up to sundance to do a little skiing. since sundance is only ten minutes away from us (we are so spoiled), we decided to head up and watch them. our niece, lainey, is actually younger than madeleine, but already looking like a skiing pro.
recital pictures
some pictures from the recital, courtesy of randy's aunt and uncle, who came all the way from california to hear it.
randy's instructor, dr. shumway, handing off the official program, signed by the piano faculty, saying that randy passed his senior recital.
randy with his former piano teacher, shelly weight, who came all the way from boise.
the red socks.

reusable bags
randy packs a lunch to school every day and we use a lot of ziploc bags in the process. i recently saw these reusable bags and decided that i wanted to make my own. here is the finished product:

sigh of relief
it's over.
months, no, years, of preparation crammed into 52 minutes of music. performed beautifully by my favorite. only slightly tainted by anxiety on my part.
but it all came together and there was no reason for me to be anxious. randy seemed calm, cool, and collected, surrounded by supportive and loving friends and family, many of whom came a long way to give that support. thank you.
last night, randy and i were sitting in bed and randy said, "i couldn't have done it without you." and i thought about it and said, "no, you could have done it much easier without me. but thanks for doing it with me." one of the beauties of marriage is getting to share in each others successes.
i have to admit, i'm looking forward to a little more time with our husband and father around here. and sunny weather and time outside.
i'm proud of you.

random memory
my dad used to squeak-check our teeth.
when we were little, we would brush our teeth at night and when we thought that we had done an adequate job, we would report to my dad. he would check our efforts by rubbing his finger across our teeth and if it made a squeaking noise, we passed inspection. if not, it was back to the bathroom for more scrubbing.
rinse and repeat.
