we had our ward halloween party last night and had a good time, despite the holiday. randy had a performance he had to attend, so madeleine and i went without him. because he wasn't there, i decided to go as a single mom without the time, energy, or money to buy my kid a costume. i didn't take any pictures because we looked just like we normally do. don't you love easy (lazy) halloween costumes? i did wear sweatpants and i'll let you judge whether or not those were part of the costume (they were, i actually changed into them).
best costumes of the night go to our friends, the bushmans. adam dressed up like bob ross and rachael dressed up as a happy little tree. it was great and i was proud that i got it right off the bat. they always have promising costumes. last year, rachael was a large wedge of cheese (imagine the green bay packers) and adam dressed up like the guy from the mac commercials ("i'm a mac, and i'm a p.c."). they were mac and cheese. so creative.

Maybe I wouldn't be such a Halloween scrooge if I were creative like the Bushmans. Remember all the times we put on scrubs and a stethoscope and called it a day?
